1. H.E. Anil Trigunayat, Ambassador of India in Amman called on H.E. Mrs. Lana Mamkegh, Minister for Culture of Jordan on 16th December, 2014. Ambassador apprised Hon'ble Minister about the range of events, including printing of publications, exhibitions, cultural performances and film festivals during 2015 that have been planned by the Embassy of India to celebrate 65th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between India and Jordan.

Ambassador informed Mrs. Mamkegh about the visit and participation of a 13-member Jordanian percussion group that participated in the five-day World Percussion Festival held in New Delhi in November, 2014 much to the delight of Indians. They also discussed about cooperation in various fields including twinning of Petra and Agra that have two wonders of the world, increase in tourist flows between the two countries. Ambassador informed Hon'ble Minister about the recently launched on line Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVOA) facility for 43 countries including Jordan by the Indian Government that will allow Jordanians to swifter travel to India. Hon'ble Minister extended all possible assistance for 65th anniversary celebrations. She praised India's various achievements. Ambassador also offered training for Jordanians in various film institutes in India under the ITEC programme. Jordan has always Indian cultural group to perform at the Jerash Festival in July 2015. Both the countries are working to finalize the Cultural Exchange Programme and the related ‘Work Plan' that will enable closer cultural cooperation between the two countries.
